Maj. Gen. J.S. Sandhu, AVSM, Additional Director General, National Cadet Corps Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh visited 1 Pb Remount & Veterinary SQN NCC, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. He was on his maiden visit to the Ludhiana Group where he visited the R & V Unit. He was accompanied by Brigadier S.P. Singh, Group Commander of the Ludhiana group. He was received by Col. S.K. Bhardwaj, Officer Commanding of 1 Pb R & V SQN NCC and was introduced to the whole staff of the Unit. He inspected the horse stables, training area and functioning of the NCC Unit and was all praise of the proper maintenance and up keep of the Unit. He also lauded the excellent efforts and support of GADVASU to the NCC Unit. He was elated to know that the Veterinary Graduates of the University undergo compulsory NCC training for first three years of their degree.

Maj. Gen. J.S. Sandhu met Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor of GADVASU, They discussed about the new UGC guidelines pertaining to NCC as an elective subject in every college, to which Dr. Inderjeet Singh apprised him that GADVASU Veterinary students have to undergo compulsory three years NCC training during their degree. Dr. Singh said that the NCC Unit of GADVASU has full support of GADVASU administration and also lauded the effort put up by the staff of 1 Pb R & V SQN NCC for training the students in the best possible way in this Pandemic era also.
