KVK Mohali conducts training and awareness programme on Energy Efficiency as per directions of ICAR-ATARI. This programme aimed at providing scientific knowledge on efficient use and conservation of energy to the
farming community. While inaugurating the programme Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director KVK S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) motivated farmers on efficient utilization of energy in agriculture and livestock sector. He appealed farmers to save energy and fuel. Training Incharge Dr Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) welcomed the guests and farmers. He delivered lecture on efficient utilization of energy in horticulture and use of micro irrigation to conserve water and energy. Dr Sharma briefly explained various activities undertaken by KVK. On this occasion Dr Manoj Kumar of Indian Institute of soil and water conservation Chandigarh delivered lecture on soil conservation, its adoption and challenges. Dr Jaswinder Singh, Agriculture Development Officer delivered lecture on
importance of energy in agriculture sector. Punjab Energy Development Agency official Sharad Sharma and Suresh Goyal shared various schemes of PEDA and techniques of energy conservation. Mr Rajesh from pump manufacturing company delivered lecture on installation and management of pumps. Dr Parul Gupta expert of Home Science delivered lecture on saving energy at household level. Chief Guest of programme Sh. Sanjeev Verma, Additional Director, PCRA Chandigarh urged farmers for fuel conservation and shared schemes of his department. Dr Munish Sharma extended vote of thanks and urged farmers for more active participation in upcoming events of KVK. Exhibition of KVK and private companies was also displayed in this programme.
