A three day International Workshop on “Ethics in Research and Lab Safety” concluded at the School of Public Health and Zoonoses, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. This workshop was organised in collaboration with University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. S. K Uppal, Dean Post Graduate Studies, GADVASU said that such workshop is very helpful for the post graduate students to learn “Lab safety and Research Ethics” which are integral parts of scientific research. Scientists from USA told students about the significance of ethics in scientific research, how to decide giving credits to the scientists involved in a research project as well as the guidelines for animal research. He elaborated contribution of Professor Emilie Jenkins, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Canada for facilitating this workshop. In the concluding remarks he mentioned other facilitators including Dr. Janet Hill and Dr. Sarah Parker (from WCVM, University of Saskatchewan), Dr. Peter Thompson and Dr. Benjamin Rosenthal (from US Department of Agriculture, USA) and Dr. Jatinder Gulani (Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, USA).
