Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana is going to organize one week training programme on Pig Farming from 15.07.2019 (Monday). Dr. H.K. Verma, Director Extension Education informed that in this training programme, the trainees will be provided basic knowledge on different topics like breeds, breeding, feeding, day to day care & management, shed design & structures, weather management, vaccination protocols, diseases & their prevention, value addition of pork, economics of pig farm etc., besides the theoretical lectures practical training on handling of pig, measuring vital parameters, signs of healthy animals will also be provided to the trainees. The purpose of training will be to provide fundamental knowledge and support the farmers after training to set up their entrepreneur efficiently. For getting admission in this training programme, one has to fill a form, which can be downloaded from University website www.gadvasu.in. It is pertinent to mention here that Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana is also disseminating knowledge on Pig farming in the form of book and through a mobile app, which can be downloaded from Play store.
