A two day workshop on ‘Lab Forum India’ started today on 3 July 2019 at 
Department of Animal Nutrition, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana, in collaboration with FOSS India under the aegis of ‘Project Monitoring Unit- Department of Biotechnology (DBT), GoI Canine Research Centre (Nutritional and Processing Interventions for Developing Pet Foods).
Dr. M Wadhwa, Head Department of Animal Nutrition while welcoming the delegates, chief guest and guest from FOSS India revealed that the motive behind this workshop is to sensitize scientists, feed analysts, industry people and research scholars with latest technologies in feed analysis as well as to provide hands on training on equipments functioning.
Dr JPS Gill, Director Research, GADVASU was the Chief Guest on this occasion
. In his inaugural speech, Dr Gill highlighted the importance of quality feed in today’s scenario both for human as well for livestock. For quality checking calibrated, précise and quick instruments are required said Dr Gill. Further he thanks the Department of DBT, Govt of India for sanctioning such a prestigious project to the university.
FOSS is a very reputed international company manufacturing a range of equipments used in feed analysis and allied sectors revealed Mr Bharat Aswani, GM, FOSS India while detailing about FOSS. Mr Maria Wickman and Mr Soren Damgaard, Product Managers FOSS travelled all the way from Denmark to demonstrate the functioning of various equipments to the delegates. Mr Shailender Kumar ASM North FOSS India also present on this occasion.
Dr APS Sethi, Professor, Department of Animal Nutrition revealed that a total of 52 participants from GADVASU, PAU, KVKs, Reginal Research and Training centres, CIPHET are attending the workshop.
