In a bid to achieve the target of cent percent voting in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the State, the NSS wing of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organised a voter awareness programme at varsity campus. As per the Election Commission of India guidelines, all the students, faculty and other participating volunteers where administered oath.
The NSS volunteers from College of Animal Biotechnology and College of Dairy Science and Technology took Pledge to cast their vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Mrs Nidhi Sharma, Welfare Officer and NSS Programme Coordinator, briefed students about the need and importance of exercising their right to vote and administered the pledge. She exhorted all the participating volunteers to not only vote but also to motivate their near and dears to exercise their right to vote .
While motivating the students, Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students' Welfare, said, "Voters participation in the democratic and electoral process is integral to the successful running of any democracy ".
Dr Sivakumar and Dr C S Mukhopadhyay, NSS Programme Officers from College of Dairy Science and College of Animal Biotechnology were also present.
