21 days advanced training course on “Current Reproduction Technologies vis-à-vis Fertility Augmentation in Farm Animals” was held at the Centre of Advanced Faculty Training, department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, under the aegis of ICAR, New Delhi. Twenty four participants from ten states, working in State Veterinary and Agricultural Universities and KVKs attended the programme.
Course aimed to provide background knowledge and hands-on practice in various reproductive technologies through lectures, practicals and demonstrations viz. colour doppler ultrasonography, trans-vaginal ultrasound guided ovum-pick up, embryo flushing, thermal imaging, cytobrush technique, SDS-PAGE and fetotomy procedures.
Expert talks delivered by eminent scholars, Dr. S P Shukla from Rewa, Dr. Pankaj Sood from Palampur and Mr. Inderjeet Mittal from New Delhi, updated the knowledge of participants. Expert Scientist-Participant interaction was highly remarkable and useful.
In the concluding function of the training Dr S K Uppal, Dean, Post Graduate Studies and CAFT Coordinator addressed the participants and congratulated for the successful completion of the training programme. The CAFT programme was highly appreciated by all the participating scientists. Dr Prahlad Singh, Head, Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics was the Director of the Course. The course was coordinated by Dr A K Singh and Dr. M Honparkhe.
