Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, under the aegis of Indian Society for the Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR), Punjab chapter, and, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, organized a guest lecture on “Role of Kisspeptin on Bovine Reproduction”. The guest speaker was an eminent international scientist Dr Jaswant Singh, Professor, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. Singh has expertise on microscopic anatomy and reproductive science with respect to ovarian structure and embryonic development. The guest lecture was attended by faculty from various departments and postgraduates. Lecture emphasized the role of a new neuropeptide Kisspeptin, which interacts at higher centres of brain and modulates reproduction. Therein discussions involved new research methodologies in neuroendocrinology and anatomy and reproductive outcomes. Dr H K Verma, Director Extension education and President (ISSAR, Punjab Chapter) and Dr P S Brar, Dean, College of Veterinary Science and General Secretary (ISSAR) appreciated the efforts of organizers from the department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
