To acknowledge the academic achievements of students and teachers an impressive Annual Award Function was organized at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. The innovative initiative was brain child of Vice-Chancellor Dr. A S Nanda. In the inaugural address Dr. Nanda said that we are working on these lines that every teacher will have an independent research project. Till the date University is working on 106 projects. He said that this award function will be a permanent annual feature. He was of the opinion that this types of get together develops a strong bridge to combine the legacy of experienced seniors and youngsters in the Veterinary profession. Dr Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean Post Graduate Studies formally welcomed the august gathering. Dr Sushil Prabhakar, Registrar handled the complete responsibility for the conduct of the awards giving ceremony in a very meticulous manner. Teachers and Scientists who earned prestigious project research projects and developed different technologies were also awarded with appreciation certificates and memento. Two technical books and a CD on Animal Nutrition was also released on this occasion. Dr Parkash Singh Brar, Dean College of Veterinary Science thanked all the personalities for their active contribution for the success of the function. A cultural programme was also showcased by students of Varsity. Members of the Board of Management of GADVASU, senior officials of Animal Husbandry Department, Punjab, retirees of Varsity, officers, faculty members and a large number of students and their parents attended the function.
