Landscape wing of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University organizes Van Mahotsav (Tree Plantation Drive) 
in campus with the theme ‘Join Hands to Make Change Today’. Tree plantation drive was inaugurated by 
Dr. A. S. Nanda, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU. Plantation work was carried out in & around the administrative block, Farmer Hostel/Scientist Hostel, College of Veterinary Sc. building, Silver jubilee block, Dairy farm and GADVASU hostels. A total of 600 plants were planted in different areas of campus. Different types of plants viz; trees Neem, Sukhchain, Amaltas, Gulmohar, Dharek/Bakain etc., Fruit trees Mango, Jamun, etc. and shrub plants/small trees Hamelia, Chandani, Jatropha, Har shingar, Plumeria rubra etc. were planted. All the university officers Registrar, Director of Research, DSW cum EO, Director of Extension Education, Comptroller, Dean PGS, Dean COVS, Dean CODST, CoE planted one tree each. Students from National Service Scheme of Varsity also participated in the plantation drive.
Dr. A. S. Nanda appreciated the tree plantation drive and highlighted the importance of planting trees to protect our nature. A pledge was also taken on this occasion to protect the planted trees and plant more trees in future too, to save our environment. Dr. Nanda said that it is an important mission to 
save the environment and it is a matter of great pride that veterinary university is contributing for this social cause. He said that we will ensure that all the plants reach to their full bloom.
Dr. S. P. S. Sangha, Director Student Welfare cum EO congratulated the team of landscape wing Dr. M. S. Bal, Sh. Joginder Singh, Sh. Ram Asra & other gardeners and workers for organizing tree plantation drive in university campus. Dr. M. S. Bal, Landscaping In-Charge, told that landscaping wing of GADVASU is looking after planning and implementation of custom landscape plans and maintenance of existing and developed landscape area. He expressed his gratitude to all the Officers, faculty members, students & landscaping staff for participation & successful completion of plantation drive.
