The annual prize distribution function was held on 30th of October 2015 at the college of Fisheries, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana. On this occasion, the students were felicitated in academics, co-curricular activities and sports. In the academic section, students who attained maximum OCPA and attendance for the academic year 2014-2015 were felicitated by awards and cash prize sponsored by Dr. Asha Dhawan, Dean, College of Fisheries. Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, former Dean, College of Fisheries gave three awards in the name of ‘Mata Ind Kaur’ (name of her grandmother) sponsored by her for the meritorious students. These awards were given to the I, II and III year undergraduate students with highest percentage of marks those who have not availed any other scholarship of their academic year. The award included cash prize of Rs. 10000/- for each student. While addressing the students Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur expressed her heartfelt happiness for students’ achievements and inspired the students to excel in future to bring more laurels for the college. Further, Dr. Meera D. Ansal, Head of Dept. of Aquaculture felicitated all the winners of sports events. At the end, all the awardees who won prizes in the 6th Inter College Youth Festival, GADVASU-2015 were also felicitated. Special awards were given for the Best athlete (Ms. Gulgul Singh), Best actor (Mr. Swarajpal Singh Randhawa) in theatre event of the 6th Inter College Youth Festival-2015 and the Best student (Ms. Paransheel) of the college for the academic year 2014-2015 by the Dean of the college, Dr. Asha Dhawan. While addressing the students, she appreciated the efforts of all the faculty especially Dr. Shanthanagouda A.H., incharge DDMC, CoF for his dedication and continuous guidance for the students. She motivated the students for their regular involvement in various activities in addition to academics for overall personality development. Dr. Grishma Tewari was instrumental in arranging the function. Dr. Vaneet I. Kaur concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
