Dr. JPS GILL, Professor and Head Veterinary Public Health, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, have been awarded Dr. S.P. Singh Best Paper Award by Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialist at IX Annual Conference of IAVPHS & National Symposium on Veterinary Public Health: New Horizon for Integrating the Animal Production, Food Safety and Human Health held at Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai.
Dr Gill was conferred the award for his research paper entitled “Studies on pesticide residues in market milk and its public health significance” which was adjudged as the best research Paper published in Journal of Veterinary Public Health authored by Dr JPS Gill, Dr. JK Sharma and Dr. RS Aulakh. He also presented lead paper on Health concerns of Biomedical Waste Management in the symposium. Dr. JPS Gill has been working on pesticide, heavy and toxic metal residues in food for last 14 years and has recently organized International Workshop on Environmental Pollutants and their impact on human and animal health and three training courses on residual effects of chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers on domestic animals.
