Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana is organizing 2nd Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Officers Workshop today on Jan 20, 2011 for the officers of the Punjab State .The workshop is planned with the objectives of

• Exchange of latest research findings of GADVASU, extension methodologies for effective transfer of technologies and sharing the scientific knowledge with the field level functionaries for enhancement of the productivity of the animals.
• Providing an opportunity to the practitioners to interact and discuss the emerging issues in field conditions with the scientists of the University.
• To develop strategies to solve the field problems through Research and Development.

Ms Usha R Sharma, Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries departments, Govt. of Punjab  will be the chief guest, Dr VK Taneja, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU will preside over the function. Dr Kulbir Singh Sandhu, Director of Extension Education revealed that different technical sessions would be held for the Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Officers so that the latest technical knowledge and new recommendation will be exchanged between university scientist and official of the three departments. Dr Sandhu said that the recommendation of the workshop will help in laying the future strategies for livestock, poultry and fishery development in the State. About 300 delegates from the State Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department from all the districts of Punjab are expected to attend the same
