Dr. Harish Kumar Verma , Professor of Veterinary Extension (Gynaecology), has Joined as head , Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension ,Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana (GADVASU). Dr. Verma joined the university as Assistant Professor on 4.05.1989 and was appointed as Professor on 26.07.2006. Dr H. K. Verma was bestowed with the Young Scientist award twice by Indian Society for the Study of Animal Reproduction in the year 1993 and 1997 and Travel Grant Fellowship by International Society of Andrology for research paper at XI International Congress of Andrology at Salzburg (Austria) , 1997 and many other awards. He has participated in many International and National training programmes . He is among those people in university who worked in the field for the benefit of farmers. The technology in the field of Veterinary Science in general and Animal Reproduction in particular generated at the University was effectively transferred to the target section of society. He has been frequently interacting with livestock farmers to attend their queries and providing tips for optimizing reproduction and their management in their animals through expert lectures, animal welfare camps, field days, Radio/TV talks and articles in local language. Based upon research and clinical observations, he has published more than 250 popular and research articles, two books and two manuals. At present he is also working as editor of various publications of GADVASU. He has successfully guided five students to complete their post graduate degree.
