Vet Varsity NSS camps on Youth for Digital Literacy concluded

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organised week-long Special camps for more than 150 volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS). These camps were about “learning to be digitally literate”. They learnt the intricacies of optimal utilisation of digitalisation besides developing capacity to shun screens.
Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Director Students’ Welfare informed that camps were aimed at raising awareness among students in digital literacy and subsequently motivate society to develop among themselves a sense of responsible use of screens. Dr. Ghuman emphasized that with such camps the volunteers developed competence for selfless service for the community and the nation.
The in-campus colleges of vet varsity participated under the theme of ‘Youth for Digital Literacy’ as guided by the Regional Directorate of NSS.
Dr. Kuldeep Singh Kaka, Agriculture Officer, Fatehgarh Sahib, delivered a lecture on Role of NSS application to be adopted by the volunteers to strengthen Digital Literacy.  He explained the thin line of difference between use and misuse of technology and to save your mental health besides getting enough time for other productive activities.
Dr. Nidhi Sharma, NSS Programme Coordinator, informed that the NSS Volunteers also cleaned the equipments, machinery and surroundings of Experimental Dairy Plant for two days to show their commitment towards clean campus.
Dr. S.S. Hassan, Dr. Narender Kumar, Dr. Vishal Sharma, College Coordinators NSS,  reiterated that these camps are essential and are bound not only to help individuals but masses in the present day context.
