A five day Training program on "Advanced Microbiological Disease Diagnos
tic Techniques" was organised by the Department of Veterinary Microbiology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.
Five Veterinary Officers from the Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu attended the training program. They were nominated under the Holistic Agricultural Development Program (HADP) for the capacity building of the officers. They were given training on different diagnostic techniques like PCR, Real Time PCR, ELISA, MALDI-TOF and Genxpert for the diagnosis of infectious diseases in animals.
Dr. S.S. Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Sciences felicitated the veterinary officers with the training certificates and emphasised on the use of advanced techniques in disease diagnosis. He encouraged the participants to use these techniques in their routine diagnosis in the Disease Investigation lab.
