Advanced ICAR sponsored 21 days training course on “Innovative strategies in diagnostics and therapeutics in theriogenology” was concluded February 04, 2025 at the Centre of Advanced Faculty Training, Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana under the aegis of ICAR, New Delhi. This training program was started on January 15, 2024. A total of twenty eight participants from ten states, working in State Veterinary and Agricultural Universities, ICAR institutes and KVKs attended the programme.
Course aimed to provide background knowledge and hands-on practice in various reproductive technologies through lectures, practicals and demonstrations viz. colour doppler ultrasonography, trans-vaginal ultrasound guided ovum-pick up, embryo flushing, thermal imaging, cytobrush technique, vaginal cytology and fetotomy procedures.
A total of 34 theory and 20 practical lectures were delivered in this training programme. Expert talks delivered by eminent speakers, Drs. Ezaz Ahmad (online) Pakistan, Dinesh Dadarwal (online) Canada, Sudhanshu Bhusahn (online) Germany, T R Talluri (offline) Bikaner, Amitesh Kumar (offline) Varanasi, S Selvaraju (offline) Bengaluru updated the knowledge of participants. Expert Scientist-Participant interaction was highly remarkable and useful.
Concluding function of the training was held on February 04, 2025. Dr SPS Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science (COVS), the chief guest of the program addressed the participants and congratulated them for the successful completion of the training programme. The training completion certificates were distributed to the participants. The CAFT programme was highly appreciated by all the participating scientists. Dr M Honparkhe, Principal Scientist cum Head, Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics was the Director of the training and presented a report of training. The training was coordinated by Dr A K Singh and Dr. Ajeet Kumar.
