Veterinary Pathologists Shine at IAVP Congress 2023

The students and faculty members of the Department of Veterinary Pathology of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana attended Veterinary Pathology Conference-2023 organized at Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly (Izatnagar), UP. Dr. Kuldip Gupta, Dr. Amarjit Singh and Dr. Naresh Kumar Sood, along with post-graduate students of the department attended the Congress.  More than 250 participants across India, including faculty members, post-graduate students and retired faculty members attended the conference. 
Dr Priyanka Syal, a former Ph.D Student bagged Best Second Poster Presentation Award on her work on role of epithelial mesenchymal transition in canine mammary tumor, co-authored by Nitin Dev Singh, L. Geeta Devi, Kuldip Gupta and Harmanjit Singh Banga. The students of the department dominated the ICVP Technical Session, Dr Sonam Sarita Bal, Ph.D scholar of the department bagged First Best Clinical Case Presentation Award for her presentation on a clinical case of a mixed cell tumor in an ovary of a mare-A case report, co-authored by L. Geeta Devi, N. Umeshwari Devi, Mohanapriya T and Nitin Dev Singh. Dr Rajat Sood, M.V.Sc student was awarded Second Best Clinical Case Presentation Award for a clinical case presentation on metastatic mixed mammary tumor in a Labrador dog, co-authored by Kanle Shivani Tatyarao, Nitin Dev Singh and L. Geeta Devi. Dr Himanshu Garg, another M.V.Sc got Consolation Clinical Case Presentation Award for his presentation on urinary candidiasis in male Labrador dog: A case report, co-authored by Kuldip Gupta, N.K. Sood and Randhir Singh. 
Dr Kuldip Gupta, Co-chaired the Young Scientist Award Session and presented a lead paper during the Molecular Oncology session, Dr Amarjit Singh coordinated the ICVP Technical session and Dr Naresh Kumar Sood chaired the Toxicopathology session and presented a lead paper in the Pet and Companion Animal Session. In addition, Dr Kuldip Gupta and Dr Naresh Kumar Sood imparted hands-on training on microscopic slide reading during the ICVP workshop which was highly appreciated by young pathologists.
Dr Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Dean College of Veterinary Science and Dr Inderjeet Singh, Vice- Chancellor congratulated the faculty members and students of the department for their achievements.
