Four students of Veterinary Science College, Rampura Phul of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana died in an unfortunate road accident. A condolence meeting was held at Ludhiana and Rampura Phul campuses of the university to pay heartfelt tribute to these ill-fated students. Dr. Harmanjit Singh Banga, Registrar, Veterinary University said that these students were studying in the fourth year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at Veterinary Science College, Rampura Phul. The names of these students were Lukesh Kumar, Rohan Sharma, Simrandeep Singh and Shaileej Guleria. After the New Year holida
ys, these four students were going back to their college at Rampura Phul in a taxi when they met with this terrible accident near Jalandhar.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU, Deans, directors, teachers, employees and students of the university came to pay homage and their respect in this condolence meeting. Dr. Baljinder Kumar Bansal, Dean of Veterinary Science College, Rampura Phul also paid respect to the departed souls and briefed about the incident. Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students’ Welfare, Dr. S. K. Uppal, Dean Post Graduate Studies and Dr. Bansal himself along with Dr. N.D. Singh, Security incharge of university also went to Jalandhar to console the family and assist them in some government formalities. All the present at the condolence meeting paid their respect to these departed students by observing a two-minute silence.
