Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana is going to organize 19th Biennial International Animal Nutrition Conference in collaboration with Animal Nutrition Society of India (ANSI) from 16th to 18th November 2022 with the theme “Nutritional Technologies to Augment Livestock, Poultry, Canine and Fish Production for Global Competitiveness”. The share of feed alone is around 70 percent in rearing the animals and balanced nutrition is vital for the health, fertility and optimal performance of animals and aquaculture.
Dr. Udeybir Chahal, HoD of Animal Nutrition and President of ANSI informed that more than 400 scientists from India and abroad are attending the conference to deliberate on seven different specialized themes of animal nutrition viz. Ruminant, Poultry, Swine, Canine, Fish, Fodder & Feed Additives. ANSI also confers different awards to the scientists namely Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Scientist in Research, Teaching and Extension respectively. To encourage the students and young faculty there are many awards to be given viz. Best Presentation Award, Best Thesis Award in M.V.Sc. and PhD degrees.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor GADVASU said that majority of farmers from Punjab are rearing their livestock, fish and poultry animals on scientific lines who are associated with extension directorate of the university. For further improving their knowledge regarding precision feeding an interaction of farmer-industry-scientist interface is being planned on the first day of the conference. In this session representatives of various farmers’ organizations associated with the university will speak about the feed related issues. Nutrition experts coming from different parts of India will answer their queries. There will be an industrial exhibition also in which various companies showcase their research based nutritional related products to lessen the feed cost and improve the profitability of the livestock farmers.
