The NSS unit of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana under Directorate of Students’ Welfare organised an exhibition on "Sardar Patel - The Architect of Unification" as per the guidelines of University Grants Commission. The digital exhibition was curated to celebrate the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The life and contributions of Sardar Patel was remembered by NSS volunteers, students, staff and faculty in the form of an exhibition of digital pictures exhibited in Hindi and English in digital format.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. S.K. Mendiratta, Dean, College of Dairy Science and Technology, GADVASU. While addressing the audience, Dr. Mendiratta shared his views on how he led the task of forging a united India and successfully integrated it into the newly independent nation.
Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students’ Welfare said that the day has been envisaged to apprise the young generation about the struggles of freedom fighters and prominent personalities during India’s Independence movement.
Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Welfare Officer and NSS Programme Coordinator, said the exhibition intends to reflect the strength of unity and integrity of India, which was mentioned as one of the "Panch Pran" by the Prime Minister on the occasion of Independence Day, 2022.
NSS Programme Officer Dr. C.S Mukhopadhyay from College of Animal Biotechnology reported that a student Harsh from the same college presented a patriotic song depicting national Unity and Integrity during the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition.
Dr. Sivakumar, NSS Programme Officer from College of Dairy Science and Technology, informed that the inaugural ceremony was concluded with the national anthem.
