Vet Varsity celebrates ‘Lumiere’ Hostel Night at NRI Girls Hostel

To accord a warm welcome and make them feel at home, the senior hostel inmates of NRI Girls’ Hostel of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University celebrated Fresher’s Party titled ‘Lumiere 2022’. The celebrations began with floral welcome to the Guest of Honour of the evening Mrs. Sangeeta Malik.

The evening saw many dazzling performances by both seniors and juniors alike from energetic dance numbers, a variety of entertaining games that made the evening even more charming.  The most interesting part of the event was the Guessing Game where the participants were blindfolded and they had to guess the props by touching or smelling. Kanwardeep Kaur Jannat, Sukhmani Sahib Kaur and Kashish, all Veterinary students bagged the first three prizes in it.

Other exciting games held at the party were Musical chairs which were won by Nandita and Sukhmani, followed by the fraternizing game of Couple dance on newspaper which was played by everyone including the guests.  Arshnoor, Mary Ann and Simran emerged as winners. The last game for the night was "Tasting Game" giving interesting challenges to the hostel inmates was won by Dilshad, Abhinaz and Sehaj from College of Veterinary Science.

While addressing the students, Mrs. Sangeeta Malik said “New academic session has started in GADVASU and the new students must have settled comfortably in their new surroundings and are well immersed in their academic activities, thus a welcome party is a much awaited affair for seniors as well as juniors.”

NRI Girls’ Hostel Warden, Dr. Nidhi Sharma while complementing the hostel Prefect, Shikha Chaudhary, said the students worked untiringly to put together entertainment programs that enthralled the distinguished guests and audience alike and drew them irresistibly on to the stage to join in the fun.

Dr. Geeta Leishangthem encouraged the students to work hard and also congratulated the winners.
