The Faculty and postgraduate students of the Department of Veterinary Surgery & Radiology, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana won five Gold Medals and one appreciation award at 44th Annual Congress of Indian Society of Veterinary Surgery (ISVS) and National Symposium on “Recent Trends in Surgical and Imaging Techniques for Enhancement of Productivity and health Status of Farm and Pet Animals”. It wad held at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. The conference was attended by more than 260 surgeons from all over India.The 
GADVASU team presented 30 research papers in various sessions. Dr. Navdeep Singh, Professor-cum-Head, presented a lead paper in the Ruminant Surgery Session entitled “Diaphragmatic hernia in buffaloes – An overview”. Dr. Jitender Mohindroo, Professor, presented a lead paper in Radiology and Imaging Session entitled “Critical decision making in small animal ultrasonography”. In Small Animal Surgery Session, the research paper authored by Mehak Mahant, Arun Anand, Rupinder Singh and Smruti R. Pradhan won the Gold Medal. The research paper authored by Jasmeet Singh Khosa, Arun Anand, Vandana Sangwan, Harsimran Kaur and Jitender Mohindroo was adjudged Best paper in the Equine Surgery session. The team of Premsairam C., 
Tarunbir Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Shashi Kant Mahajan and Jitender Mohindroo bagged Gold Medal for Orthopaedic Surgery session. The team of Abhishek Verma, Vandana Sangwan, Arun Anand and Kirandip Kaur won Gold Medal for Large Animal Poster Session whereas Gold Medal for Small Animal Poster Session was won by Biswadeep Jena, Shashi Kant Mahajan, Jitender Mohindroo and Kuldip Gupta. The appreciation award in Radiology and Imaging Session was won by Deepti Sharma, Jitender Mohindroo, Neeraj Kashyap, Shashi Kant Mahajan and Tarunbir Singh. Gold Medal was received by team of Arun Anand, Simrat Sagar Singh, Devendra Pathak, Jasmeet Khosa, Rahul Udehiya, Shashi Kant Mahajan and Vandana Sangwan in Equine Surgery session and appreciation certificate in Large Animal Poster Session was received by Harmanpreet Singh Sodhi, Vinod Kumar Shukla and Arun Anand. Dr. Jitender Mohindroo and Dr. Deepti Sharma (Ph.D student) received appreciation award . Dr. S P S Ghuman, Dean, COVS congratulated the head of department, faculty members and students and encouraged them to participate in such conventions with full zeal.
