Farmers training programme on Augmenting Fertility in Dairy Animals held at Sappanwali

All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP), “Nutritional and Physiological Approaches for Enhancement of Reproductive Performance in Animals” (ICAR, New Delhi) running in the department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, has been allocated budget under sub-head SCSP-General for financial year 2021-22. A one day training programme on, “Augmenting Fertility in Dairy Animals” was conducted for the rural farmers (SC category) to improve their dairy farm income by learning techniques in the fertility management of dairy animals. Lectures and practical demonstrations on reproductive management were delivered to the trainees for the improvement and outcome of the dairy animals. The training was attended by 50 candidates at MSVH&RRTC, Sappanwali, Abohar, Fazilka. The training was helpful in providing know-how of the dairy farming for self employment to the rural farmers and uplifting their income. Literature and minor inputs for improving dairy reproduction were distributed among the participants for awareness and adoption of dairy farming as an entrepreneur.
Drs Prahlad Singh, Shahbaz Singh, Isha Sekhri delivered useful information related to fertility augmentation in dairy animals to the participants in order to adopt dairy farming in lieu of crop diversification for better economic returns. The participants were made aware of importance for heat and fertility management in dairy farming for better outcome in terms of calf and milk for economic improvement. The participating farmers were facilitated with certificate of participation.
