College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul organized second session of Health talk series under the patronage of Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor. Dr. Manish Kumar Chatli, Dean, COVS, Rampura Phul, formally welcomed the eminent guest speaker and the participants. He introduced the theme of the talk to the audience and emphasized on the necessity of stress management for the students as well as faculty members during this COVID-19 pandemic.
The key speaker Dr Poonam Bharti, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, MMIMSR, Mullana, Haryana delivered a talk on “Mental Health Management during COVID -19 Crisis” with special emphasis on mental wellbeing of the students. She enlightened the participants regarding crisis management and stress management including internet addiction and psychiatric issues of students in this pandemic. Furthermore, she emphasized on adoption of healthy lifestyle and relaxation techniques like mindfulness meditation and well-balanced diet which will boost up the immune system of the body to reduce the stress. Dr. Amit Challana, Dr. M.V. Choudhary, Dr. Adarsh Mishra and Dr. Pallavi Khajuria handled the proceedings of the event and question answer session. The session was quite interactive and queries were raised by the audiences especially students. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks. Vice Chancellor asserted that this is most important topic in the post pandemic era and praised the efforts of organizing team for conducting such a unique and interactive event. This event was dedicated to “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrations.
