Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Tarn Taran organized a one-day Online Awareness Programme "Efficient water management for livestock " under Jal Shakti Abhiyan at KVK, Tarn Taran. A total number of 35 dairy farmers and farm women from different villages of district Tarn Taran attended this online awareness programme. Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Booh, Tarn Taran addressed the participants regarding importance of water and its judicious use in the livestock. Further, he enlightened the participants regarding efficient utilization of water technologies for the production of forage crops and climate resilient approaches for sustainable livestock production. Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production explained about the requirement of water in the livestock. He also discussed about the drinking behaviour of dairy animals, guidelines for use of saline water for dairy animals, and concentration of nitrates in drinking water and expected outcomes. Dr. Balwinder Kumar presented his sincere thanks to all the participants for sparing their valuable time to make this programme a great success.
