CoVS, Rampura Phul Starts Training Programme on Dairy Entrepreneurship

College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul has started training programme from 18-Feb to 18 March for ‘Dairy Farmers/Entrepreneurs’ under Skill Development Programme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Agriculture Skill Council of India). This is the first physical/off-line training programme being organized by Department of Livestock Production Management of college . This training programme will cover different aspects of dairy farming including selection of quality dairy animals, scientific breeding strategies, shelter/housing, feeding, reproduction, healthcare along with processing of milk for value addition to inculcate entrepreneurship skills among the dairy farmers. Dr. Manish Kumar Chatli, Dean,  inaugurated the training programme and asserted the farmers to actively participate in this training to acquire basic theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills to become successful dairy entrepreneur. He further stressed to make continuous liaison with the college to get benefit from the various facilities available at their doorstep. Course Coordinator of the training program Dr Yashwant Singh, Prof. cum HoD, informed the participants about the lecture schedule and various visits to be organized under this training program focused on skill development in dairy farming. He apprised the participants that the lectures will also be delivered by bank officials/financial institutions like NABARD etc. for the development of project on dairy farming and details will be provided about the related government schemes. He also informed that necessary literature regarding dairy farming will also be provided to all the participants. Dr. Amit Sharma, Associate Professor and course co-coordinator presented the vote of thanks. He has acknowledged the University authorities and participants for their enthusiastic response. Other faculty members, Dr. Sandeep Kaswan, Course Co-cordinator and technical coordinators, Dr. Parag Acharya and Dr. Anand Prakash were also present on the inaugural event of the training. Total twenty farmers, residents of nearby villages registered in this training programme. They were happy to see that the state of art infrastructure related with veterinary and animal husbandry practices is available at their door step.  Dr Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU congratulated the faculty of Veterinary College, Rampura Phul for organizing this event in such a short span after its inception. He assured all kind of necessary support for organizing such events in future as well.
