Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) conducted the Veterinary Entrance Test (VET-2019) for admission to undergraduate program i.e. Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H). Dr. Narinder Singh Sharma, Controller of Examinations revealed that a total of 1974 candidates applied for admission to this course, of which 1836 (93%) candidates, 1040 (56.7%) boys and 795 (43.3%) girls appeared in the entrance test in two centers at R.S. Model Senior Secondary School and B.C.M. Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana.
Dean and Directors of the Varsity had the first hand information about the arrangements for smooth conduct of entrance test and visited the centers. The test was conducted for 69 seats of B.V.Sc. & A.H., for Ludhiana, 80 seats for Rampura Phul and 42 seats for Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar. The result is likely to be declared in 2-3 days and will be available online at the university website (www.gadvasu.in).
Dr. Sushil Prabhakar, Registrar of the University informed that first counselling for B.V.Sc & A.H. is scheduled on July 22. He also informed that the date for applying in degree programs in B.F.Sc., B. Tech. (Biotechnology) and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) has been extended to 01.07.2019 without late fee and 08.07.2019 with late fee. The candidates can apply to admission to these programs by both ways i.e. online (www.gadvasu.in) and offline (on paper application).
There is no Entrance Test for admission to Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.), B. Tech. (Biotechnology) and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology). The admissions will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 from any recognized Indian Board. Now the candidates from Medical as well as from Non-Medical streams will be eligible to get admission in B.F.Sc., B.Tech. (Dairy Tech.) and B.Tech. (Biotech) programmes. Besides, number of seats in all these programs has also been increased. The first counselling for 75 seats of B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science), 50 of B.Tech. (Biotechnology) and 75 of B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) for Ludhiana is scheduled on July 23 at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium, University Veterinary Hospital, opposite Nanaksar Gurudwara, Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana.
