Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mohali of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University 
Ludhiana organized One week vocational training entitled “Integrated farming system” under RKVY scheme at village Sahauran of district S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) under the guidance of Dr Yashwant Singh (Deputy Director). Twenty farmers/farm women and rural youth of scheduled caste category took part in this training programme. Dr Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor Horticulture & Training Coordinator gave detailed lecture on integration of horticultural crops with agriculture & livestock farming, kitchen gardening for nutritional security, protected cultivation for enhanced income generation and nursery raising of vegetables. Dr Yashwant Singh Deputy Director (Training) gave lecture on management of household dairy farming and livestock rearing for doubling farmer’s income. He motivated farmers to adopt integrated farming system. Dr Shashipal gave lecture on Management of backyard poultry farming and goat farming. Dr Vikas Phulia gave lecture on integrated fish farming and Ornamental fish farming-An emerging enterprise for income generation. Dr Priyanka Suryavanshi 
gave lecture on vermicompost and vermiwash preparation and Azolla production for fodder and green manure purpose. Dr Harmeet Kaur gave lecture on Beekeeping. Dr Parul delivered lecture on value addition, processing and marketing of farm produce. Mrs.Nittu an official frtom NABARD discussed about various schemes of bank for the benefit of farmers. Exposure visit to Punjab Dairy Development Board, Chatamli and farms of progressive farmers was also organized during the training programme. Farmers Bahadur Singh, Avtar Singh, Vidya Kaur shared their experiences with the participants and thanked KVK faculty for this training programme.
