National Workshop on Employment and Entrepreneurship starts at Vet Varsity

All India Progressive Forum (AIPF) in collaboration with Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), organized a National Workshop on ‘Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship: Emerging Realities’ from 23rd - 25th November 2018 at GADVASU campus, Ludhiana. More than 120 participants from 14 states representing various fields viz; Academicians, Industrialists, Scientists, Professionals, Journalists, Budding Entrepreneurs, Progressive Farmers, leaders of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Women Entrepreneurs, faculty members and students from GADVASU is attending the workshop. The purpose of workshop is to focus on framing of ideas and solutions to address real and ground level problems faced by young and budding entrepreneurs particularly in small towns and rural areas.

Dr. HK Verma, Director Extension Education, GADVASU was chief guest for the National Workshop. He presented the keynote address and discussed the various innovations and technologies developed by Vet Varsity. He informed that GADVASU is regularly organizing national as well as international workshop and converting unemployed youth/farmers in to entrepreneurs as job providers in Dairy, Goat, Pig, Poultry, Fish and processing of livestock produce along with ample opportunities lying in the livestock sector by starting with small units of machines & dairy farm equipments and can earn good livelihood.

Shri Anil Rajimwale, General Secretary-AIPF presented the base paper on “Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship: Emerging Realities”. An exhibition to the various facilities, farms, practical demonstrations, farmer- entrepreneur friendly literatures and value addition of livestock products was also showcased to the participants.

Sh. J S Kular, former Director MSME, stressed that even industries are at cross-roads. Skilled manpower is not available and those trained locally, try to immigrate to developed countries.

Dr. Yugal Railu, Secretary, AIPF introduced the audience about All India Progressive Forum (AIPF) and its mandate and function and Sh. Ramesh Rattan, Coordinator AIPF (Pb.) is coordinating the workshop and informed to the participants about the schedule and technical sessions of the workshop namely; technologies for entrepreneurship development, scenario of entrepreneurship in India, law & taxation in current scenario, alternative, preventive & additional ventures, post harvesting & value addition technologies, healthy people for vibrant society, technological inputs for entrepreneurship development, women & youth empowerment vis-a-vis development and Innovative technological interventions. Experts, entrepreneurs as well as students shared their opinion and information on the current scenario of employment and entrepreneurship in the said workshop.

Dr. A. S. Nanda, Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU, Ludhiana opined that the objective of the workshop coincides with the extension activities being undertaken by GADVASU for farmers and entrepreneurs with aim to promote sustainable livestock farming and appreciated the joint effort of AIPF and Directorate of Extension Education for successfully organizing the workshop.
