Students express power of words in Veterinary Varsity Youth festival First Phase is over; Second Phase will be from 13th Nov. 2018

9th Youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University progressed to 4th day with competition held in literary events. Students expressed their feelings and expressions through their participation in events including Elocution, Extempore, Creative Writing, Poetry and Haas-Ras. Wing Cdr. Retd. J S Bajwa was chief guest of the morning session whereas Mrs Kanwaljeet Kaur Nanda w/o Dr. A S Nanda, was in the second session.

Nidhi Sharma organizing secretary of festival said that in morning session Extempore and Creative writing competitions were held. In the afternoon session there were competitions of Poetry, Elocution and Haas-Ras. In all the competitions three colleges of university named College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology, College of Fisheries, School of Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani participated alongwith affiliated college Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Amritsar. Students expressed their thoughts on current and important issues.

In the Elocution event The topic was ‘Will Me too movement put an end to harassment to women in society

In the Extempore competition result was:

The topic for Creative writing was ‘How do you perceive the religion in today's scenario

  2. Deepkamal Singh, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Amritsar
  3. Daljeet Kaur, College of Fisheries

In the Poetry competition the topic was: 'Sirjana'

The results was:

Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Student Welfare congratulated the winner students. He said that Youth Festival will enter in the more colourful and Musical phase as main stage items will be on floor in second phase from November 13 to 15.

Dr. N K Sood, President, Dance Drama and Music Club said that on 13th November 2018, there will be competitions of Folk song, Creative Dance (Solo), Light Vocal and Group Songs (Indian & Patriotic).
