14 November 2017 - Musical events held at Veterinary Varsity Youth Festival

The 8th inter college youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana entered fifth day with stage events. Dr AS Nanda, Vice-Chancellor, formally inaugurated the youth festival. Sh. R. N. Dhoke, IPS Commissioner of Police Ldh, was Guest of Honour whereas Dr. Baljit Singh Gill, Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine, Calgary, Canada and Sh. Amit Sharma, Resident Editor, Dainik Jagran also graced the occasion. Dr. Nanda said that youth festival is a unique platform for students to show their hidden talents. The courses of professional degrees are very tough and students find very less time for extra-curricular activities. Sh. Dhoke also recollected his students' days. He shared his sweet memories with students and also motivated them to make a perfect balance in their studies and extramural activities. He congratulated the winners and participants of the events and encouraged them to participate with more energy and enthusiasm. The day was of Folk Songs and Solo Dance, (Creative). Stage performances are now performed in the open air theater PAU. Sh. Surinder Shinda, Smt. Harinder Hundal and Sh. Kuljeet renowned Punjabi Singer and performers were the jury members of today's events.

Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW told that in today’s event all the three colleges at campus named College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology, College of Fisheries, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani participated alongwith affiliated college Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Amritsar. He said that students are full of talent and we should give them more opportunities to perform at higher stages. The various committees constituted for the organization of the youth festival worked very hard for its success.

Nidhi Sharma, Organizing secretary of festival said that total 10 students participated in Folk Song and 9 students participated in solo dance competitions.

Dr. N K Sood, President, Dance, Drama and Music Club said that Mime, Quiz, Skit, One act play, Mono acting and Mimicry would be performed tomorrow at 9 am in the morning. The venue will remain same, Open Air Theatre PAU.
