Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Booh, Tarn Taran organized one day farmer’s awareness camp on Weed control in wheat and importance of livestock farming on
04.01.2018 at village Bahadur Nagar, Block Valtoha, District Tarn Taran. About 40 farmers have participated in the awareness camp. During the event, Sh. Navjot Singh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) discussed about different methods of weed management in wheat and insect-pest and fertilizers management in Rabi crops. He guided farmers about judicious use of chemical fertilizers and insecticide’s in crops in order to decrease cost of production and environmental pollution. Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Deputy Director provided detail information about different facilities of KVK for farmers and farm women. He also emphasised on importance of soil testing in crop production and also aware the farmers regarding economical fodder production for sustainable livestock production. Queries of farmers related to agriculture and livestock farming were also resolved in the event. Mineral mixture, uromin lick and KVK/University literature were also sold to the farmers. Sarpnach of village appreciated the efforts of KVK and thanked KVK staff for organising camp at their village.
