21 Days ICAR Sponsored Training Programme at Veterinary Varsity

Advanced training course on “The Cutting Edge Technologies to Enhance Fertility in Farm Animals” was held from 4 to 24 Nov. 2016 at the Centre of Advanced Faculty Training, department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. 25 participants from eleven state, working in Veterinary and Agricultural Universities and KVKs attended the programme.

The training was aimed at providing background knowledge and hands-on practice in various reproductive technologies through lectures, demonstrations and practicals viz. colour doppler ultrasonography, trans-vaginal ultrasound guided ovum-pick up, embryo flushing, thermal imaging, cytobrush technique, SDS-PAGE  and fetotomy procedures in farm animals.

An on-line expert deliberation by Dr Jaswant Singh from University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada was the highlight of the programme. Positive thinking to modulate/minimize stress at work place delivered by Mr. Inderjeet Mittal, Master Trainer, Govt. of India was worth listening and appreciated by the participants.

In the Valedictory function. Dr Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean, Post Graduate Studies and CAFT Coordinator, Dr Sushil Prabhakar, Registrar and Dr P S Brar, Dean, College of Veterinary Science addressed the participants and congratulated for the successful completion of the training programme. The CAFT programme was highly appreciated by all the participating scientists. Dr PS Brar, Dean College of Veterinary Science was the Director of the Course whereas Dr M Honparkhe and Dr Ajeet Kumar were the Course coordinators.
