A one day training program on first aid for the security staff was organized by the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhinana. Dr. Satyawan Rampal, Director Student’s Welfare cum Estate Officer of GADVASU, informed that university has started such initiatives to provide better and timely help in case of emergencies. Dr. Rampal also emphasized on the importance of human life and he mentioned that keeping it in mind university will also take-up such initiatives in future too. Such training programmes will help in enhancing the efficiency of the work- force of the university.
Dr. Simrinder Singh Sodhi, Incharge, security wing of GADVASU further informed that three training programmes at different levels on first aid will be organized. Dr. Sodhi added that these training programmes are being organized in collaboration with the District Red Cross Society of Ludhiana. He stressed that a special emphasis has been given to handle the emergency situations. The trainees were trained to handle the situations like drowning, convulsions and emergencies related to health. It was further informed that a special practical training session was also conducted to handle the cases like uncomfortable breathing, fractures, artificial respiration, snake and dog bite. Dr. Sodhi further informed that university administration is always trying to provide safe and secure environment to its employees and the security wing of university is always working round the clock on these lines.
