The first round of counselling of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was 
completed for three undergraduate courses i.e. Bachelor of Dairy Technology (four year programme) and Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (five years programme), Bachelor of Fisheries Science (four year programme) at Silver Jubilee Block Auditorium of the University. A total number of 2706 applications for admission to the said undergraduate programmes were received this year, out of which 2516 candidates appeared for Common Entrance Test (CET). 25 seats of B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), 69 seats of B.V.Sc & A.H and 10 seats of B.F.Sc were filled in the first counselling as informed by Dr. Sushil Prabhakar, Registrar, GADVASU. A great rush for admission to courses in Veterinary Science, Dairy Technology and Fisheries Science was seen due to the increased popularity of these courses. The rearing of milk animals is no more a subsidiary occupation and has attained the status of industry. Besides the number of pets in urban and rural households is ever increasing. Thus, a great interest and 
scope was seen by the candidates in these professions.
The second counselling for admission to Bachelor of Vety. Science & Animal Husbandry, Bachelor of Fisheries Science and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) is to be held on 17th August, 2015, while third counselling for all the undergraduate programmes will be held on 3rd September, 2015. Status of vacant seats of all the UG programmes will be available on the university website www.gadvasu.in a day before the scheduled date of counselling.
