Annual Training Camp-77, which is being held at 1 Punjab Remount and Veterinary NCC Squadron of College of Veterinary Science, GADVASU has successfully completed its half of the journey.
While briefing about the camp, Maj. M M Madhusudan, Camp Commandant informed that cadet are undergoing rigours training. Telling about the schedule of the camp he further added that day for the cadets starts at 5:45 AM with PT and then followed by equitation management and grooming parade. During the forenoon daily cadets under go drill practise, are taught about NCC activities and how to develop commandership in their personality. He further informed that Col. HPS Sahni, Group Commander of Ludhiana Group visited the camp and inspected the camp activities. Col. Shani, appraised the cadets about the importance of NCC, Aims of NCC and importance of discipline in life.
Deputy Camp Commandant, Dr.R. S Sethi, informed that guest lectures on the general awareness and current issues and on equine management are also being organised for the cadets. Col. S Sehgal, gave a special lecture to the cadet on personality development, carrier opportunities in defence services and on “Acupressure”. Dr. Simart Sagar Singh, Dean, College of Veterinary Science gave a lecture to the participating cadets on “Horse lameness and handling and management of horses.
Dr. Simrinder Singh Sodhi, Camp Adjutant, informed that apart from the PT and drill, cadets are also being exposed to various activities like, shooting, group discussion, extempore and in sports volleyball, foot ball and Kho- Kho. Dr. Sodhi, added that all the cadets in the camp have been divided into four houses namely, Zorawar House, Pride House, Trident House and Rustam House. Dr. Sodhi further added that daily inter house competitions are being held for these activities and cadets are taking keen interest in all these activities. A lot of enthusiasm can be seen in theses cadets. He also informed that a day before the concluding day of the camp a cultural programme will be organised and the prize winners will be honoured.
