All the arrangements have been made to organise the third Athletic Meet of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University Ludhiana. The views were expressed by Dr. K.S.Sandhu Director Students welfare GADVASU. While informing about the event he said that Dr. V.K. Taneja Vice Chancellor GADVASU will inaugurate the meet on Feb. 26 at 9.30 A.M. at Punjab Agricultural University Track .Dr. Daljit Singh Principal Dayanand Medical Collage & Hospital, Ludhiana will be the chief guest to give away the prizes.
Manjit Singh organising secretary of the Athletic Meet informed that After its establishment, University is doing well in sports & Co curricular activities from the very first day. This is the reason that the University is completing its third year and we are organising a third Athletic Meet also. He said that earlier we have only one college in the University but with new addition of College of Fisheries and College of Dairy Science and Technology the number of the sports person will increase as well as quality of sports also.
Dr. A.P.S. Brar President Sports Committee GADVASU revealed that all the arrangements to facilitate the sportspersons have been completed. Duties for first aid, record keeping, track related requirements have been ear marked to all the concerned. He said that due to heavy work load of studies students mostly remain engage in their books but this type of free, cheerful day will provide them a break to rejuvenate. The students are busy to create new slogans and banners to boost their favourite ones, where as participants are practising with full zeal for their events, He added.
Dr. V.K. Taneja Vice Chancellor extended his best wishes for the participants. He hoped that the students of GADVASU will win laurels for University and nation in the field of education as well as sports also.
