Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana conducted a five days refresher course in which 25 Veterinary Officers of Animal Husbandry Department, Punjab participated. The refresher course was based on livestock healthcare and artificial insemination. It was coordinated by the Department of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex along with the Directorate of Extension Education.
Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa, Director of Clinics and Technical Coordinator of the course highlighted that the expert lectures were delivered based on physical and special examination of livestock, herd health management, screening of dairy animals for infectious diseases, practical interpretation of radiographs and ultrasonography. The participants were provided hands-on experience on clinical cases, ultrasonography in large ruminants, bacterial isolation for disease diagnosis and collection and processing of samples for parasitic diseases.
Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education and Course Director congratulated the participants on successful completion of the training. He stated that such refresher courses are of immense importance for the field veterinarians to sharpen their clinical skills and get updated with the latest technologies being used in livestock healthcare. He informed that this course was especially organized for the Veterinary Officers of Punjab. The training was coordinated by Dr. Randhir Singh and Dr. Amandeep Singh
