Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Tarn Taran of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana celebrated Atma Nirbhar Krishi - ICAR Foundation day on 16 July, 2021 under INDIA@75: Bharat ka Amrut Mahotsav at KVK Tarn Taran. A total number of 20 farmers from different villages of the district Tarn Taran attended this programme. Sh. Sukhraj Singh Kirtowal, Chairman Market, Harike, Tarn Taran was Chief guest on this occasion. Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Booh, Tarn Taran welcomed the farmers in this programme and highlighted the importance of agriculture in today’s scenario in terms of contribution in GDP and further said that the aim to celebrate this day is to develop an interest in agriculture and allied sciences among the rural youths and to choose agriculture as their profession and research career or engage 
themselves in farming as agripreneurs. Dr. Balwinder Kumar also talked about the different activities of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran for socio economic upliftment of the farm community. Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor (Livestock Production) discussed with trainees about the employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in the dairy farming and poultry sector. He also talked about the importance of mineral mixture in dairy animals and the products of GADVASU like mineral mixture, Uromin licks were also displayed for sale among the farmers. Sh. Pal Singh, Sarpanch, Village Jamarai and Sh. Kuldip Singh, Sarpanch, Village Booh, Tarn Taran also attended the programme. Further, trees were planted in KVK premises under the theme, `Har Medh Par Ped’ as part of our India@75 – Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. The programme ended with the vote of thanks.
