Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Tarn Taran organized one day training programme on “Scientific breeding strategies in dairy animals”. A total number of 20 farmers from different villages of the district Tarn Taran attended this training programme. Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Booh, Tarn Taran delivered an inaugural lecture and guided the participants regarding dairy farming. Dr. Kumar also talked about the different activities of kendra for socio economic upliftment of the farming community. Further, he discussed about feed, fodder and silage management for profitable dairy farming. Farmers were apprised about various products such as Mineral mixture, Uromin lick and Bypass fat. Dr. Suresh Kumar Assistant Professor, (Livestock Production) discussed with trainees about the reproductive management in dairy animals. He, further, guided the farmers about importance of vaccination in dairy animals and also made the trainees aware regarding different types of diseases and their possible treatments. Dr. Piverjeet Kaur Dhillon, Assistant Professor, Home Science explained the nutritive value of milk and meat. She also enlightened the trainees about the various value addition techniques to develop curd, cheese, khoa and meat recipes. The programme ended with vote of thanks.
