Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Tarn Taran organized a World Milk Day on 1st June, 2021 at Patti, Tarn Taran with theme Animal health and productivity “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav”. A total number of 25 rural youth and farmers from different villages of block Patti, Tarn Taran attended this programme. Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Booh, Tarn Taran addressed the participants regarding importance of milk as a healthy and balanced diet. Further, he explained the nutritive value of milk and also enlightened the participants about the value addition of dairy products. He also talked about the different activities of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran for socio economic upliftment of the farm community. Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production discussed management strategies to improve the milk production and productivity of dairy farmers. He also enlightened the farmers about the benefits of FPOs in Dairy sector and also discussed about the marketing of dairy produce through FPOs. He, further, discussed the importance of mineral mixture, uromin licks and by pass fat in dairy animals. Further, the mineral mixture, UMMB and Bypass fat of GADVASU were made available for sale among the farmers. Dr. Balwinder Kumar presented his sincere thanks to all the participants for sparing their valuable time to make this programme a great success.
