Krishi Vigyan Kendra S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized Field Day on "In situ Crop Residue Management" at Village Baraudi under the project Crop Residue Management. More than 50 farmers and rural youth participated in above mentioned programme. While inaugurating this programme, Associate Director (Training) Dr. Parminder Singh appealed farmers to not burn the crop residue and manage it by use of suitable machinery. Programme Incharge Dr. Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor, Horticulture delivered lectures on utilization of crop residue as mulching in horticultural crops. Dr Shashipal, Co-coordinator of this programme and Assistant Professor, Livestock Production told farmers about use of paddy straw as animal feed and in other ways. S. Gurbachan Singh, Agriculture Officer discussed about various crop residue management machines and production practices of Summer crops. On this occasion, village Sarpanch S. Manmohan Singh, S. Ravinder Singh, Retd. Teacher and farmer S. Ajit Singh and S. Pritpal Singh also expressed their views. Visit to farmer's field organized and PAU leaf colour chart alongwith literature was also distributed during this programme.
