Veterinary Polytechnic and Regional Research and Training Center, (VP&RRTC) Kaljharani, Bathinda organizes Dairy training program under scheme "RKVY-12-DEE: Enhancement of Production and Productivity Potential of Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries Sector for Socio-economic upliftment of the farmers of Punjab” under the guidance of Dr. Manish Chatli, Dean, COVS, Rampura Phul, Bathinda. A total of 30 dairy farmers belonging to SC category participated in the camp of which 17 were female participants. Dr. Sittal Dev Jindal, Principal-cum-Joint Director of this institute made aware of the various facilities provided to farmers by university for improving dairy productivity. Dr. Sumanpreet Kaur, Veterinary Officer, VP&RRTC, Kaljharani, discussed various milk testing methods in animals that would help to know the subclinical mastitis in dairy animals. Dr. Ajaybir Singh Dhaliwal, Veterinary Officer, VP&RRTC, informed the importance of various farm bio-security measures to curb the occurrence of zoonotic diseases in animals. Dr. Mandeep Singh, Veterinary Officer, VP&RRTC, discussed various Livestock breeds of animals and their housing management alongwith reproductive management techniques in repeat breeding animals. Dr. Mohinderpal Singh, Veterinary Officer, VP&RRTC stressed upon the value addition of livestock production and discussed how it could help to increase the marketing value of their products. He also informed about the balanced ration formulation for dairy animals. University literature, Mineral Mixture bags and Uromin licks were also distributed to the beneficiaries free of cost.
