KVK Tarn Taran educating extensively farmers about the crop residue management

The team of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran is educating the farmers of Indo Pak Border area extensively regarding paddy straw crop residue management in scientific way. KVK team is guiding the farmers to sow the crop with happy seeder, super seeder and use other machinery for In-situ managements of crop residue. Recently visited in the villages such as Valtoha, Kalanjar, Cheema, Assal Uttar, Kalas, Mehdipur, Khemkaran, Maddar for creating awareness among the farmers about the crop residue management. All the villages are in the close vicinity (2.5 km) from international border. KVK is providing complete guidance   to the farmers of these border areas regarding sowing of wheat crop with happy seeder for reaping maximum benefits in the form of sustaining soil health and improving crop yield.  Also farmers are being trained for treating the paddy straw with urea and to use it for livestock feed. On the guidance of KVK, farmer of village Kalanjar Sh. Gurtej Singh has sown 20 acres of land with happy seeder. Similarly, in the village Kalas which is at the Indo Pak Border, farmers were guided to sow the crop with Happy seeder and super seeder. Earlier also, KVK has organized many awareness camps about crop residue in the border villages and farmers are being benefited from the such awareness programmes. Sarpanches of villages Kalanjar, Assal Uttar, Kalas and Mehdipur thanked KVK team for providing complete guidance about CRM in these border villages.
