Regional Research and Training Centre, Talwara organized one day Training cum Awareness camp under RKVY on Calf Management, Infectious and reproductive diseases of dairy animals at Village Daggan and village Adampur Motian of Hoshiarpur

District. In this camp a total of 57 farmers belonging to schedule caste category including women participated. Lectures were delivered by Dr. Gagandeep Singh on various aspects of calf management, importance of vaccination and deworming in calves, Identification of sick animals and common infectious diseases of dairy animals in Kandi area and their prevention and management. Besides this activity one startup kit consisting of mineral mixture, University publications were distributed free of cost to the participating farmers under RKVY scheme. Information for various activities carried out by the RRTC, Talwara was also given to the participating farmers. The farmers also raised queries regarding the livestock rearing, which were resolved and technical guidance was also given. It was advised to the farmers to start adopting modern and scientific methods of Livestock rearing so that they can earn better livelihood.
