KVK, Mohali organized World Rabies Day at village Baroudi of district Mohali, Punjab. Theme of this year WRD 2020 was ‘End Rabies: Collaborate, Vaccinate’. This day is celebrated throughout the world with the objective to eradicate rabies by 2030 with collaboration of community, doctors, veterinarian and people. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, K.V.K, Mohali, awared the farmers to protect themselves and their domestic animals from stray and rabid dogs. He informed that this disease is fatal and protection through vaccination is only measures we can take to protect ourselves and our livestock from this deadly viral disease. He also emphasized to follow the proper procedure to protect themselves and their animals to come in contact with the rabid dogs. Dr Shashi Pal, Assistant Professor (LP) coordinated this programme in which more than 25 farmers/youths of the village participated. He also awared the farmers about the post biting effects of rabid dog. He discussed in detail the protocol to be followed after biting of rabid dog. Dr Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) was also participated in this programme. S. Manmohan Singh, Sarpanch of village thanked faculty members, supporting staffs of KVK, Mohali and urged to conduct such programmes in the village.
