Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SAS Nagar (Mohali) of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana organized One week vocational training on “Specialized Goat Farming” at its campus in Kurali. Sixteen farmers 
took part in this training programme from various part of Punjab. Under the guidance of Dr Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, K.V.K, Mohali, conducted this training programme. He motivated farmers for goat farming and proper utilization of resources and maximizing the profit from per unit area. He also briefed trainees regarding various facilities provided by K.V.K and GADVASU, Ludhiana for the farmers. He delivered his lecture on comfortable housing management of different categories of goat, breeding programme; diseases of goat, treatment and its control programme. Dr Shashi Pal, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production (Training Coordinator) gave detailed lecture and practical exposure on various breeds of goat, feeding management of different category of goat, recordkeeping, reproductive management and economics of goat farm. He also briefed trainees about integration of goat farming with aquaculture. Dr Parul Gupta, Assistant Professor delivered lecture on nutritional aspects of goat milk and value addition of goat milk. Dr Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) gave lecture on utilization of vegetable leftover in goat farming and to cut down cost of feeding. During this training programme trainees were given practical exposure at Goat Farm, Fatehgarh and goat farm owner, Ranjeet Kaur shared his experience with the participants. All participants thanked KVK faculty for conducting such an excellent and interactive mode of training programme.
