Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S Nagar (Mohali) in collaboration with IFFCO, S.A.S Nagar organizes awareness programme cum Kisan Gosthi on plantation of trees at village Dulwan Khadri of 
Block Majri. In this programme, around 150 farmers/farm women of the district participated. S. Yadwinder Singh Kang, Member Zila Parishad, Mohali was Chief Guest of the occasion. Dr Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, KVK, Mohali while welcoming the chief guest briefed about various activities of KVK for the welfare of the farmers. He gave emphasis on importance of forest trees in human life, animal feed and agriculture. Dr Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) and Incharge of this programme delivered lecture on various cultivation practices to be practiced in coming rabi season. He urged farmers to plant fruit and forest trees in their household, surroundings and public places. Dr Priyanka Suryavanshi, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) told farmers about various agroforestry farming 
practices. Dr Katiyar, Chief Manager (IFFCO) motivated farmers for soil and water testing. Mr. Pawan Kumar, Field Officer (IFFCO) gave information on various products and schemes of IFFCO. Dr Shashi Pal, Assistant Professor (LP) and Shri Ranjit Singh were also present in this plantation drive. On this occasion, five fruits and agroforestry plants were distributed to each farmers/farm women and few plants were planted in KVK farm, village and primary school premises. Village Sarpanch S. Kamljit Singh, Shinderpal Singh thanked KVK and IFFCO officials for organizing this programme.
