Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran on 19.07.2019 organized farmers awareness camp under 
Jal Shakti Abhiyan. In this camp, 50 farmers from different villages participated. On this occasion, Sh. Umesh Kumar, Director Infrastructure, Ministry of North Eastern Region, Government of India participated as chief guest. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Balwinder Kumar Deputy Director(Training) aware farmers regarding judicious use of irrigation water. He said that, KVK will aware the farmers regarding water saving in agricultural by conducting front line demonstration on their fields. He asked farmers to keep water stagnant in the paddy field only for first fifteen days after transplanting and thereafter apply irrigation water two days after the standing water will leached down. Chief guest of this function, Sh. Umesh Kumar while addressing the farmers said that this is our prime responsibility to save water and also aware the other peoples around us regarding judicious use 
of water. He said that as per directions of Government of India, we are going to initiate a campaign regarding saving of irrigation water in all eight blocks of District Tarn Taran. The farmers present in the camp insured that they will make judicious use of water in their fields and provide full co-operation to KVK in campaign regarding water saving. Dr. Navjot Singh Brar proposed vote of thanks. Chief guest also inspected the demonstration plots and soil testing lab of KVK. On this occasion, Sh. Jaskirat Singh, DDM NABARD, Sh. Bhupinder Singh, ADO, Sh. Sandeep Singh Dhillon, ADO, Dr. Anil Kumar, Dr. Bhanu Prakash Ch., Dr. Nirmal Singh and Dr. Gurdeep Singh were also present.
